We decided to go with a group of animal behavior specialists to go on a trip to study some of the predators in the area. On our first stop, we were watching a pack of gray wolves out hunting a herd of elk. So, I quickly recorded the video of them the herd. After the hunt was finished we decided to move back to the town, but we saw the den site of an lynx with her kits. We watched the lynx for sometime as he watched her from a safe distance as she took care of her litter. After thirty-minutes, we decided to head back to the hotel. http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/taiga_animal_page.htm
While at the Siberian Taiga we
noticed some valuable resources in the area. We noticed that the large amount
of trees in the area. Also, we saw signs for coalmines and oil wells in the
outskirts of the forest.
So we have a
question for you, can you think of any other valuable resources in the area?
In our travels to the Siberian taiga we observed
many results of human impact. We saw a
lot of variable resources being used up we saw a lot of trees being cut down
and loaded on trucks for their timber. When we went into town their were lots
of venders selling animals skins. From reading information there is a lot of
poachers killing animals for their meat and their fur, which we saw a lot of
furs, and meats being sold. Another way that we saw the way that humans have
impact on the Siberian taiga is that there is mining for coal. While we were
walking around we saw many coal mines in the outskirts of the forest. Is there any other ways we could have of impacted this biome?
